Our client’s design team incorporated PureModern planters to enhance the guest experience at the popular Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld. This gorgeous project transformed a set of bare steps into an inviting green oasis.

Preliminary Objectives:
A soaring, light-filled, tropical atrium greets guests as they enter this Floridian resort. And in the center of the atrium is an open-air pergola-style bar and restaurant with stairs that needed an upgrade.
Our client, an award-winning team that provides interior design services for the global hospitality industry, was tasked with creating a unique and memorable experience for guests whether they are inside the restaurant or enjoying the view of this special spot while in the atrium.
Custom Solution:
The team from Carver & Associates chose to incorporate Custom Modern Elite Planters to flank the restaurant’s entrance with greenery.
To accommodate the staircase that leads into the space, the PureModern team worked with our client to come up with a custom solution.
About the process: The client provided our team with a concept drawing that included one planter per stair tread. Our team saw an opportunity to optimize that design and engineered a more effective solution. We custom-manufactured planters so they would be “stepped” and perfectly fitted to the stairs. Imagine, if you will, the game Tetris and pieces falling into place.
Our mission is always to produce the best outcome for our clients. So, our team reworked many iterations and revisions of the plan to bring this concept to fruition. Overall, we manufactured 15 planters in seven different overall sizes to ensure the integrity of the design.
We manufacture planters to sit on level surfaces, so in this case, because the stairs were not perfectly level, the client utilized PureModern’s Lift N’ Level Kits, which are essentially small, hard rubber squares made at different heights.
In the end, the custom planters perfectly fit the stairs.
Project Success:
Fifteen custom Modern Elite Planters now flank the stairs leading into the Boardwalk Sports Bar & Grill. The new pop of greenery aligns perfectly with the diverse menu of refreshing cocktails and food featuring locally sourced ingredients.
